Energy

Here our mission deals with Solar Energy Harvesting (novel sensitized and hybrid PV cells). We aim to the development of nano-engineered interfaces for advanced energy harvesting, the research of new materials and of new device concepts. We have a broad range of techniques for investigating the structure and the electronic properties of the materials and the interfaces. Study of the photophysics behind functions and applications is one of our major goals.

Activities

  • Synthesis of polyconjugated materials for hybrid solar cells
  • Development of new ionic liquid electrolytes for DSSCs and hybrid solar cells.
  • Photoanodes for Dye Sensitized Solar Cells and Hybrid Systems
  • Novel mesostructured TCO for photovoltaics.
  • Quantum dot (QD) based 3rd gen PV
