Internship on "Edible Electronics"

CB:69538

Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT- www.iit.it) was founded with the objective of promoting the Italy's technological development and further education in science and technology. To this extent IIT is committed to implementing its scientific program with the primary inspirational principle of integrating basic scientific research with the development of technical applications.

The Center for Nanoscience and Technology (CNST) in Milan is one of the network centers established by IIT in close collaboration with Italian academic institutions. Research at CNST focuses on material science and spans the whole R&D spectrum, from conception and realization of a new material to its comprehensive characterization through to its final application in devices. The areas of competence at CNST are Material Chemistry, Molecular Optolectronics, Printed Electronics, Nanotechnology Fabrication and Optical – Photophysical - Morphological and Theoretical Characterization.

CNST is seeking n. 1 Fellow (IIT budget code: 69538) to be involved in an investigative study on the feasibility of "edible electronics", as a path towards the development of innovative diagnostic self-powered devices which can be safely ingested by patients and can potentially have disruptive bio-medical applications.

Researcher position on Physics of nanostructures for photonics and energy

CB:69065

Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT (www.iit.it) is opening a Researcher position to reinforce the nanoscience activity in its Center for Nano Science and Technology (CNST IIT@PoliMI), located in Milano.
IIT, with its headquarters in Genova, Italy, is a non-profit institution with the primary goal of creating and disseminating scientific knowledge and strengthening Italy's technological competitiveness.

IIT was established in 2003 and successfully created a large-scale infrastructure in Genova, a network of 10 state-of-the-art laboratories countrywide and recruited an international staff of about 1200 people from more than 50 countries. IIT's research endeavour focuses on high-tech and innovation, representing the forefront of technology with possible application from medicine to industry, computer science, robotics, life sciences and nanobiotechnologies.

CNST@PoliMI, headed by director Prof. Guglielmo Lanzani, is active in the field of nanostructured materials for energy and photonics.

The interdisciplinary character of the investigation requires the integration of skills and competences in different fields (solid state physics, quantum confined systems, electronic structure modelling, photonics and optoelectronics).

For more information, please visit http://cnst.iit.it/
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing models for the interpretation and support of the experimental activity carried out in the Center concerning ultrafast spectroscopy, transport, optical properties and photonics.
